Yes, it is possible. Drive Overland offers the flexibility to combine camping and lodge stays within the same journey. Our camper vehicles are equipped with high-quality camping gear, allowing you to enjoy comfortable and well-prepared camping experiences throughout your trip.

If you wish to include lodge or guesthouse accommodations along the way, our team can recommend suitable options that align seamlessly with your planned route. This ensures a balanced journey that combines adventure, comfort, and convenience while allowing you to travel with confidence and ease.
To ensure a smooth and well-prepared rental experience, guests are required to meet the following conditions:
• Drivers must be between 20 and 75 years of age and possess a valid driving license recognized for use in Thailand.
• A credit card in the driver’s name is required for security and verification purposes.
• All vehicle rentals must be reserved in advance to allow proper vehicle preparation.
• A security deposit is required to confirm the booking, with the remaining balance payable on the day of vehicle collection.
Self-driving with Drive Overland is a safe and reliable way to explore Thailand, especially when traveling with a well-prepared vehicle and a carefully planned route. As with any form of travel, safety depends on responsible driving, awareness of surroundings, and following local regulations.

Our vehicles are maintained to high standards and equipped for long-distance and overland travel, providing confidence on both on-road and off-road routes. While natural environments and remote areas are part of the adventure, the primary consideration for safety remains attentive and responsible driving, as road conditions can vary in mountainous regions.

Drive Overland vehicles are permitted for travel within Thailand only. Our routes are carefully designed to cover a wide range of regions across the country, including both on-road and off-road journeys.

You are free to explore northern Thailand, including Chiang Mai, Mae Hong Son, and surrounding mountain regions, as well as other approved destinations based on your selected route plan. All travel must follow the recommended routes and guidelines provided to ensure safety, vehicle suitability, and a smooth travel experience.

If you have a specific destination or route in mind, our team will be happy to advise whether it is suitable for your journey and vehicle type.
In the event of a mechanical issue during your journey, Drive Overland provides support to minimize disruption and ensure your safety. Our vehicles are maintained to high standards, and any mechanical issues resulting from normal use or fair wear
and tear remain our responsibility.

If a breakdown occurs, our team will assess and diagnose the situation. If the vehicle remains drivable, we will arrange repairs at an appropriate workshop, with associated costs covered by Drive Overland. In cases where the issue is more serious and the journey cannot continue safely, a replacement vehicle will be provided whenever possible, subject to location and availability. This ensures
that your journey can continue with confidence and minimal inconvenience.
Pre-booking campsites and accommodation is recommended to ensure a smooth and comfortable self-drive experience. Securing reservations in advance allows for better planning, reduces uncertainty along the route, and helps avoid limited availability, especially during peak travel periods.

While it is not mandatory to pre-book every campsite or accommodation national parks and popular camping areas in Thailand are becoming increasingly busy. Reserving key locations ahead of time is strongly advised to prevent being turned away and to avoid unnecessary stress during your journey. Our team is available to assist with recommendations based on your selected route and travel schedule.
